Playing the game is the point.
The universe did not begin so that someone could win it. Every spiral galaxy, every dividing cell, every flicker of attention is the cosmos taking another turn at the table. We invent stakes because stakes make the motion feel real, and the motion is what we came here for. When we stop tallying the score and remember the dance, the trench dissolves and the field opens back up. What changes when we treat the next move not as a test to pass but as the whole point of being here?
