But labels are not really "you," and they don't make you unique. They simply put you into the same buckets as other people with those labels.

The self is an illusion we keep restocking from a basket of labels — and every label we reach for has already been worn by millions. We treat our names, roles, and identities as proof of being singular, when each one is really just a bucket that sorts us in with everyone else who carries it. Strip the tags away and what remains is not a smaller self but a wider one, indistinguishable from the whole it was cut from. Oneness was never something to achieve; it is what is left when the sorting stops. What would be here if you set the labels down?
