Monism is the idea that we are all one thing — one organism expressing itself through these varied consciousnesses.

Monism is the oldest answer to the question of oneness: not that we are connected, but that there was never a gap needing to be bridged. An anthill has no central mind, yet it builds, farms, defends and repairs itself as a single body. We look at the colony and easily see one organism made of many, then look at ourselves and insist on the reverse. Every cell in a body runs its own private chemistry and still never wonders which body it belongs to. Consciousness may work the same way — one process, many vantage points, each convinced its own window is the whole house. What would shift if we took the colony's view of ourselves for a single day?
